He cooked his first whole hog over live fire when he was just 11 years old, growing up around his family’s barbecue business in South Carolina, and has spent the last four decades obsessing over the craft of doing one thing really, really well. A James Beard Award-winning pitmaster, founder of Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ, and star of Netflix’s Chef’s Table: BBQ, Rodney has become one of the world’s most respected voices in barbecue. But what makes him so special isn’t just the incredible food, it’s the story behind it - the patience, the hours spent tending the fire, the generations of knowledge passed down, the absolute commitment to doing things properly. We are so lucky that Rodney is taking the time to join us at Kitchen Day to share his story, his lessons, and a lifetime of wisdom with our hospo community.
